Five tips to improve Fertility
A large number of women are suffering from Infertility.there has been numerous research in this field and what we understand is that Infertility is multifactorial, i.e there are multiple reasons why a women can find it difficult to conceive.
While there are treatments like IVF and IUI that women often resort to but the success of such programs depends on five major areas wich we need to focus on.
1. Food
What you eat every day makes up every cell in your body, hence what you eat is very important, healthy food will result in good quality of sperms and eggs.
So choose your food consciously , fast foods, processed packaged foods, candy, soda pop,etc are usually filled with what we refer to as anti-nutrients including preservatives, dyes, synthetic ingredients, fillers, hydrogenated oils, too much sodium, soy, GMO, and too much sugar.
These types of anti-nutrients are negative for health and may have a negative-effect on your health and fertility.
Choose foods that are in more natural state, whole foods
Examples of Whole Foods:
-Dried beans you make yourself vs. canned beans.
-Raw, lightly steamed, or lightly sautéed veggies/fruit vs. canned.
-Raw dairy products vs. pasteurized and homogenized dairy products.
-Fresh vegetable/fruit juices vs. concentrated and pasteurized juice.
-Whole grains vs. pastas and breads.
2. Exercise
Regular exercise strengthens our muscles, builds stamina, increases flexibility, increases circulation, keeps stress, depression and anxiety at bay, and promotes regular detoxification of excess hormones and toxins in the body.
It is important to exercise for at least 45 minutes a day, 5 times a week.
Make sure that the exercise you do promotes sweat.
Sweating is not only the body’s way to cool itself off, it is its way to naturally detoxify daily.
All of this is very important for healthy hormonal balance and circulation to the reproductive organs.
Regular exercise also is beneficial for preparing the body for the hard work of childbirth.
Ideas for Exercise:
-Walking
-Fertility Yoga
-Biking
-Dancing
-Swimming Laps
-Pilates
Sport of your choice
3. Positive Lifestyle Choices
Lifestyle choices are very important to your overall wellbeing.
Once positive choices become habit you are more likely to succeed with your fertility plan
Make a list of healthy, positive activities you enjoy.
Think of how you can replace old, negative patterns in your life with one of those positive activities.begin at least one of those keep doing it consistently for 21 days, then add on another.
Your lifestyle includes your physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental wellbeing.
- involve your self in a spiritual or religious practice
- Stop alcohol and smoking
- Ask for help when you need it
- Improve you relationship with food by following good eating habits.
- Improve your relationship with your partner.
- Take out time for yourself each day
4. Be Realistic and make a list
Remember, it is best to prepare for pregnancy and/or work to heal your fertility issues for 3 to 6 months before you actually conceive .
Include diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes that you need to change as well. Once you have everything listed, review each item, how long it needs to be done for, and in what part of your cycle you need to do it.
Keep a journal of your progress, note changes, and adjust your plan as needed.
5. Be Consistent
Be consistent with each and everything on your plan. Diet, exercise, lifestyle, herbs, therapies, and supplements cannot be effective if you do not utilize them consistently over time. You are more likely to achieve results if you are consistent. Herbs and supplements are not a replacement for diet and lifestyle changes. Herbs, natural therapies, and supplements cannot be effective if you are not eating well or exercising regularly. All of these take time to be effective. Remember it only takes 21 days to break a bad habit and create a healthy positive one that will stick!
